Recently, students from Léman International School Chengdu once again achieved outstanding results in prestigious international academic competitions and tournaments. In the 2026 Math Kangaroo (MK), the 2026 BioOlympiad Initiative USA-China (BIO USACN), and the 2026 TOC Asia West China Debate Tournament, Léman students demonstrated exceptional academic strength, critical thinking and communication skills, earning multiple honors and showcasing the school’s commitment to holistic international education.
In the 2026 Math Kangaroo, one of the world’s largest and most influential mathematical thinking challenges for young students, 21 Léman students participated and achieved remarkable results:
1 student won the National Top Gold Award, reaching the highest honor tier of the national competition
1 student claimed the National Silver Award and 2 students received the National Bronze Award, standing out among top competitors nationwide
5 students were honored with the Mathematical Skills Award, demonstrating solid mathematical foundations and strong thinking abilities
2 outstanding students successfully advanced to the Math Kangaroo Asia Camp, earning the opportunity to represent the China division in top-level Asian mathematical competitions
This year’s success across multiple year groups reflects Léman’s systematic approach to developing students’ logical reasoning, creativity and problem-solving skills through its mathematics curriculum.
Léman students also delivered an impressive performance in biology. In the 2026 BIO USACN competition, one student earned the National Regional Excellence Award through exceptional subject knowledge and strong analytical application skills, securing a place among the nation’s top biology competitors.
The BIO USACN is an authoritative international biology competition jointly launched by ASEEDER and the USA Biology Olympiad Organizing Committee. It also serves as the China regional qualifier for the USA Biology Olympiad (USABO). The competition closely aligns with the frontiers of international biology and places high demands on students’ academic knowledge, experimental thinking and interdisciplinary application abilities.
Léman students also excelled in competitive debating. At the 2026 TOC Asia West China Tournament, student Fiona S. achieved outstanding results in the Public Forum Debate category, earning the title of Outstanding Speaker and advancing to the semifinal round. Her achievement highlighted not only exceptional English communication skills, but also strong critical thinking, collaboration and persuasive argumentation abilities.
As one of the most influential international debate tournaments in the region, the TOC Asia Tournament gathers talented young debaters from leading schools across Asia and provides students with a platform to develop confidence, global perspectives and leadership skills.
The excellent results achieved across mathematics, biology and debate competitions are a testament to Léman’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic education.
